Directions:

From Virginia, DC, and Southern Maryland

Take the Capitol Beltway to I-270.  Follow I-270 North.  Once past the split, I-270 has 6 lanes in each direction, 4 in the “mainline” and 2 in the “local lanes”.

All lanes are through lanes.  If you are in the “mainline”, you have to get into the local lanes after you pass I-370 to Metro and the Sam Eig Highway.

Signs are marked for Exits 10-11, MD Routes 117 and 124, as well as for the Fairgrounds.

Once in the local lanes, you take Exit 11, MD Route 124, Montgomery Village Avenue EAST.  The exit is just after you pass under the CSX Railroad Bridge.

There is a traffic light at the bottom of the exit ramp, but you can only go EAST.

Go to the next corner, controlled by a traffic light and turn Right (South) on MD Route 355.

Primary: Go to the next corner, controlled by a traffic light, and turn RIGHT (West) on Perry Parkway. One block later is a traffic circle controlling the entrance to a shopping plaza. Go through the circle; pass the Gaithersburg Hilton and CompUSA on your right. The main entrance to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds is on the left. Buildings where the show is located are at the far end of the Fairgrounds.

Alternate (Use these directions for Gaithersburg Model Railroad Society shows at the Fairgrounds): Follow above directions onto Route 355. Pass through the traffic light at Perry Parkway and the next traffic light (by an Exxon gas station.) The third traffic light is just after a shopping center with an IHOP on the right, at the junction of MD Route 355 and Chestnut Street. Turn right. Pass through another traffic light and turn right IMMEDIATELY BEFORE the railroad grade crossing. The building where GMRRS shows are held is first building, a one story white cinder block structure set slightly back from the entrance road. Parking in the rear. You can pass behind this building, go straight and get to the building where the GATS show is scheduled to be held (about 50 yards away.)

From the North

Take I-270 south from Frederick, MD. From I-270, take Exit 11A, MD Route 124 EAST, Montgomery Village Avenue. There is a sign noting that the Fairgrounds are off Exit 11A. There is no traffic light at the bottom of the ramp. You pass back under I-270 and through a traffic light that controls MD 124 East and the ramp from Northbound I-270. The next light is MD Route 355. Follow the above directions from there.
