| On July 7, we honored one of our
oldest (in terms of club membership!) members on the event of his
departure from the greater metro Washington DC area. Our own Gil
Brauch thinks he's retiring and moving to North Carolina...
We've already worked out the events of his next several visits to
DC, though!
We got together at the Hard Times Cafe over in Springfield for some
chili and good fellowship. Noll took that opportunity to present Gil
with his NMRA Golden Spike Award and with a plaque of appreciation from
the club (Gil - if you can reshoot the plaque, please do - you can
see how out-of-focus my picture managed to come out!), and Gil took the
opportunity to return his key to NVX1 and NVX2, officially retiring
himself from the Motive Power Division...
I think it's safe to say that Gil will always be a member of NVNTRAK -
he's just doing recon in the wilds (and apparently has already
located a local club to invade), so good luck, Gil!
As usual, please click on the thumb-nail pictures above to see
full-sized versions...
