GalleriesThe photos here offer a glimpse into the spectacle that was Capitol Limited '04. Click on any of the links above to go to gallery pages! The galleries appear in approximate order of receipt of pictures, i.e., the higher the gallery number, the more recently the pictures were received... Thanks are due to many clubmembers for the pictures displayed in these galleries! The Main Layout contained 511 modules (each about 4' long), depicting every scene imaginable. From small towns to big cities, mines, ports, racetracks, and huge freight yards. We had incredible bridges brought over from Japan, a recreation of the Bates Motel, and alien landing, and even a spinning tornado! It took at least two full hours to take a train around the complete layout, and there were more than 70 trains running simultaneously at various points along its recod-breaking 36,000 sq. ft. Beside that massive layout were smaller specialty layouts, including a gem of an Nn3 (narrow gauge), single-track layout, and several T-TRAK (table top) layouts. The photos really don't do justice to the fine modeling. Included in all these shots are many of the NTRAKers who
helped make the layout possible. There are a few shots of the gang at
"Mission Control": The Trainmaster's Desk, the Programming Station and the
Company Store. And the over 400 train show vendors who joined us over the
weekend. There are photos of Ms. Stephanie Triggs running the train of her
recently deceased father, Mr. Steve Triggs, a member of our club who will be
sorely missed. And what's with all those yellow shirts? That's us! - the members of Northern Virginia NTRAK and our closest friends, whose dedication and hard work made possible the whole undertaking. We lived in those shirts for five days - though now, it seems hard to imagine all that we were able to cram into those five days. What a show! If you want to use any of these photos for any purpose, please contact the Capitol Limited Publicity Director, Mr. Brian Brendel. All photos remain the copyrighted property of the photographers and/or Northern Virginia NTRAK and/or NTRAK, Inc. and/or the N Scale Collectors Society. But feast your eyes on these photos and enjoy......until next time! <g> John Steitz Attention Amateur or Professional Videographers! If you shot video of the "world's largest train layout" or of people involved with it or around it, PLEASE make a copy available to us to use in a promotional video for Ntrak. There are so many Shopping Mall Managers and Civic Leaders that, when shown what Ntrak can do for an event, will add us to the show. We need as much source material as we can get to prepare this mighty tool. All who contribute will get credit on the piece, and a copy for their use on DVD or VHS. Please contact: george@deluxeinnovations.com for information on delivery and formats preferred. Thanks for your help. This tool will make it SO much easier to get those run locations that we seek. |
