This is where you're going to read about what's planned, what's coming, and what's happening with the Capitol Limited 2004 Layout - the Red Line Route! Check the Layout Diagram Page for updates on the layout itself. Presently there's a floorplan of the layout building - to give you an idea of what you're "literally" getting into! ...and don't forget that we'll also be running trains in the Hotel Lobby Layout - stay tuned for more details! T-TRAK will be at the Capitol Limited 2004! If you want to bring your T-TRAK modules with you to the show, please contact Lee Fitzgerald directly for more information about the T-TRAK layout. Lee is your "Club Coordinator" for T-TRAK and will be in direct contact with our Module Coordinator, Matt Schaefer, to be sure that you're "in" the T-TRAK layout! Layout Planning for the Capitol Limited 2004Dateline August 2003 Currently the planning effort is on reliability and making an exciting layout. The Greenberg all scale show will cover 100,000 square feet total and of that the main NTRAK layout will cover 40,000 square feet with room for 450 modules all connected together, including oNeTrak, TwinTrack, BendTrack, NTRAK, 4Trak, etc. In addition to the return of all our NTRAK friends from Running Trains '96 in Alexandria, VA, we will feature the newest ideas in flyovers, junctions, lift bridges, Nn3 and in T-Trak modules, as well as a section with Digitrax signals that have just been put on the market. The layout will be in 2 main divisions, DC and DCC. The mix of DCC and DC controls will depend on a surveys of the attendees. Through trains can "run through" over both divisions connected by a an engine change facility and yards developed by New Jersey Southern N-trak. We estimate the run on each division will be between 30 and 40 scale miles. Maps of the routes will be furnished and tower operators will use the Zutter Phone Exchange (ZPE) like was used in '96.
Based on the survey replies, activities may be offered such as road switching and a crazy
session with fast timetables for bullet trains. There will be another division
for the railroad in the hotel lobby right off the bar for late night madness and all night operations!
Watch our web site at www.ntrak2004.org
for the latest information and registrations forms. Club coordinators
will want to identify themselves to be sure to be here for Capitol Limited
during August 5-8, 2004.
