2001 Annual General Meeting

...and a good time was had by all!

The 2001 Annual membership meeting of NVNTRAK was held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, VA on Sunday, January 14th, 2001. In addition to the regular business meeting during which we elected two new members to our Board of Directors,  there was a company store, a silent auction, and a live auction. The fun started at 12:30 PM and continued until approximately 6:00 PM (or later?) when the business meeting ended. The auctions were very successful and were a lot of fun, providing new life to others' “discards” and benefiting the club.  Thanks are due to all who helped out with the auction, and especially to the Culprit-in-Chief, Mark Franke, the auctioneer, Brian Brendel, and the money taker, Chester Freedenthal! 

NVNTRAK heartily appreciates the efforts of retiring President Dave Freshwater and Treasurer John Cook.  They'll not really be gone, though, as Dave is up to his eyeballs in Operation Lifesaver activities and John has taken over management of the national NTRAK Company Store!  Thanks guys, for the great job!  Thanks are due, too, to Keith Holzapfel, for his exemplary incumbency in the challenging job of Superintendent during 2000.  He'll continue on the board in other capacity, however, so he, also, isn't really gone!

Welcome to new board-members Cotton Bowen and Paul Diley, who are our new Secretary and Superintendent, respectively!  Talk about jumping in feet-first...
