Railfest 2000

NVNTrak met to participate in the sixth Manassas Railfest on 3 June in historic downtown Manassas.  We had quite a setup, with 14 member modules and 3 club corners, for a total of 108 feet of modules.  The weather we ordered back in April arrived just in time for the Railfest, with sunny skies, a nice breeze, and temperatures in the mid 70s.  An accurate count may never be established, but best estimates are that between 30 and 40 club-members were present at one point or other during the 1000 - 1600 running time; there was certainly no dearth of trains running on all three lines right up to closing...  The Railfest itself was well-attended with a steady crowd of fans milling about the whole day.  The Planning Committee estimates that approximately 28,500 people (a new record) attended this year and it seemed that every one of them came by our tent…
